ThermoNest™ Angel Textiles is a first-of-its-kind elastic-thread quilted sheet designed to naturally regulate body temperature, promote comfort, and encourage restorative naked sleep.

After 9 years of R&D in New Zealand, we’re inviting research and innovation partners to join our next phase of clinical trials.

Research to Progress: ThermoNest Sleep Comfort Study

ThermoNest is conducting an early-stage exploratory study examining how adults experience sleep comfort, warmth, and emotional ease — particularly when transitioning away from sleeping in nightclothes.

The research explores whether a natural-fibre, elastic-quilted sleep sheet can provide a gently supportive, ease of movement, breathable sleep environment that replaces some of the comfort people typically associate with clothing.

This is behavioural and comfort-focused research, not medical treatment or diagnosis. Participants use ThermoNest in their own homes and reflect on their experience through simple diaries and short questionnaires. Mixed experiences, pauses, and adjustments are all considered valuable.

This study forms part of ThermoNest’s broader evidence-building programme and is intended to inform future research and development. Participant privacy and confidentiality are respected throughout.

Clinical Trial Ready

Early results are promising. We are seeking research collaborators and health-conscious early adopters to co-create the next phase.

We are seeking research institutions, sleep laboratories, and textile R&D teams across the 50+ Horizon Europe-associated countries — with priority interest in Canada, the UK, and Switzerland — to collaborate on our next phase of trials.

Research areas include:

  • Textile-based thermal regulation and its physiological impacts

  • Sleep quality metrics across diverse climates and demographics

  • Links between thermal comfort, pain perception, and recovery

Together, we aim to validate the therapeutic potential of climate-adaptive sleep textiles and pave the way for sustainable, health-focused innovation.
